New for
November! See the
story from the Newport News-Times on Ram's art exhibition at the
Sylvia Beach Hotel.
In addition, the local
Oregon Coast newspapers highlighted Ram's unique art projects twice
in 2003.
For International
Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) 2003 Ram painted birds on unfamiliar
canvases at Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge. Ram took bird
species requests, decorating over 50 faces and a bald head! For
IMBD 2004 Ram will have a new role: poster
designer!!
Ram volunteered with
the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Shorebird
Sister Schools Program on the Oregon Coast. He helped the students
create "Trashpipers." With trash the students collected
from Yaquina Estuary Ram constructed two shorebirds. On the sculpture,
the students wrote original poetry about the impacts of trash on
shorebirds. Many community members and visitors learned from "Trashpipers"
at local events and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
